Behold, the structure is standing

Italo Calvino said: The more enlightened our houses are, the more their walls ooze ghosts. Describe the ghosts that live in this house: Image credit: “love Don’t live here anymore…” – © 2009 Robb North – made available under Attribution 2.0 Generic

This house represents my person

Behold, the structure is standing

And every pound per square inch fights to keep it erect

The walls whisper with torn memories

She is used and abused for shelter

Time rips her apart shamelessly

At once she was built for purpose, a need fulfilled

And no sooner than she open her door to keep those safe from the elements

Time murders and ravages her piece by piece,

Guiltless is the world the architect chose

Although gutted and weathered down by winds and storms

Behold, the structure is standing

This house represents my person
